What AURA can’t do.
Every app has limits. Most don’t publish them. Here are ours, so you know what you are getting before you download it.
It can be wrong
Answers are generated by AI. They can be inaccurate, out of date, or confidently incorrect. Verify anything that matters. AURA is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice, and it is not an emergency service — in an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Without a connected provider, it has no live information
Out of the box AURA answers from your iPhone, which means it has no access to today’s news, live scores, current prices, or anything else that changes. Asked for those, it tells you it cannot find out rather than guessing.
Live results require connecting your own Claude or Gemini key, which needs AURA Plus and a paid account with that provider. Free, on-device AURA will never give you live information — that is a real limit, not a nudge.
It needs a recent iPhone
AURA requires iOS 27, and answering on the device itself requires an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence with the feature switched on. On an iPhone without it, AURA will say so plainly, and a connected provider becomes the only way to get answers. It is an iPhone app — there is no iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch version.
Hands-free is not guaranteed to stay awake
Hands-free listening has to be started while the app is open, and iOS can suspend a backgrounded app whenever the system needs the resources. If AURA cannot be sure it is still listening, it says so instead of implying the microphone is live. Reopen the app to start a fresh session.
It will not remember a conversation word for word
Long conversations are condensed as they go, so AURA keeps the thread without keeping every sentence. It may not recall your exact earlier phrasing. Facts you ask it to remember are kept separately and deliberately.
It reads your calendar but never writes to it
AURA can tell you what’s coming up and whether you’re free. It cannot create, change, or delete a calendar event. Reminders it can create, because you asked it to.
English only, for now
The interface and the assistant are English. Other languages are not supported yet.
It won’t store a secret for you
AURA refuses to save passwords, PINs, card numbers, API keys, and recovery phrases as memories, by design. It is a voice assistant, not a password manager.
